This morning was brutally cold across the country. An Antarctic blast and a ridge of high pressure sent temperatures plummeting, with Auckland recording its coldest morning in five years and many areas of NZ dropping well past -5°C.
Mornings like this are exactly when your windows get put to the test. As frames and glass get colder, condensation forms, and once it's cold enough, that moisture freezes solid. The result is a home that's punishing to live in and even harder to heat.
It's no coincidence the power grid hit another record overnight, with homes across the country cranking the heaters to keep up.
