STREET MEETS 👋🏻

On Saturday, it was more like a family get-together than an event. A football game was played between Myles and the kids, Nic made pizza with the help of a young resident, and everybody enjoyed the outdoor movie that was played.

What if you were the next Auranga resident to host a Street Meet? For more info email: [email protected]

We would like to thank Beautification Trust and Wai Care for coming down and conducting a water-quality testing workshop at Auranga so we can better understand our local Ngākōroa Awa!

Considering both the environmental and conservation viewpoints, it is good to know that the stream is in relatively good health.

Introducing Street Meets, a new initiative that allows residents to meet their neighbors and hold their own events! Our first Street Meet will give you an idea of what is possible, and you can pick up an info pack on how to host your own at the Village Square.

Join us on Sunday 30 April for a fun afternoon of games and sport, learn about organising a Street Meets event, hear how we can support you to run an event, and enjoy fresh pizza provided by Better Way Cafe.

SOCIOLOGY
Security of Belonging

A third pillar is in recognising our social nature. We all have an inherent desire to belong, as well as the value of respecting one another, appreciating the beauty of diversity, and finding unity despite our differences.

We were fortunate to have our Prime Minister, the Hon. Chris Hipkins join us for the official opening of Ngākōroa School.

A tree was planted in place of a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony. This marks the beginning of the school's journey, one that will allow students to return for years to come, with their future children and whanau, to tell the stories of how they were part of the Ngākōroa School and wider Auranga community.
