Canterbury’s median house price increased 5.2% year-on-year to $710,000, with properties taking a median of 42 days to sell.

REINZ Chief Executive Lizzy Ryley says buyer activity remained strong across all groups during June, with vendor expectations largely aligned to current market conditions. Auction rooms continued to attract solid interest, while positive sentiment was supported by a strong local economy and ongoing regional investment. Looking ahead, steady winter activity is expected, with momentum anticipated to build as more properties come to market in spring.
