What a difference a week makes. ✨

Last week we shared that the digger was back for a new project, and here we are seven days later with the finished result.

The pool area has been a labour of love. 💙

Salt water and lush greenery don't always get along — especially when guests are having the best kind of pool day. We tried star jasmine. Beautiful, but it kept dying where the splashes hit. We tried lomandra — same story in the splash zone. So we went back to the drawing board and designed something that would actually work and look the part.

Big concrete steppers. Corten steel garden beds. White pebble surrounds. 🌿 And the lomandra we love, now thriving safely beyond the splash zone where it belongs.

The result? A pool area that works with the way we want our guests to enjoy it - fully, enthusiastically, and without holding back.

Because that's what Lawn Road is for. 🤍

The digger is back...🚜

Just when we thought our landscaping was done, we've come up with an idea of how to make this part of the property more inviting, more practical, and more connected to the grounds beyond.

It's only just getting underway, so for now all you'll see is a digger and a bit of dirt but we can already picture the finished result.

A little behind-the-scenes moment from Lawn Road today 🛠️

Our engineers came by to service the custom-built cover lifter on our hot tub — and it got us thinking about why we had it made in the first place.

A 14–16 person hot tub is a big thing. Literally. So rather than guests having to wrestle a heavy cover off before every soak, we had a lifter custom built for it — because a spa this size simply doesn't come with an off-the-shelf solution. One easy motion and the cover is off and our hot tub is ready to enjoy. ♨️

The small details matter to us.

Because when you're here to relax and celebrate, the last thing we want you doing is any heavy lifting. 😌

We're having the most glorious May here in Hawke's Bay and a busy month with guests making the most of the sunshine — the pool, the lawn, those gorgeous warm afternoons. 🌞
