For the past 8 months, every Tuesday, I’ve swapped property for pre-loved treasures and spent my day volunteering at the St John Huapai Op Shop.

When I started growing Heart & Home Property, I thought, “What can I do with my spare time that actually makes a difference?” So I found somewhere local, worthwhile and full of lovely people, and St John Huapai was it! ❤️

And wow… what an awesome 8 months it’s been!
Today was my last fixed Tuesday shift - unfortunately, but also fortunately! 🥹

As Heart & Home Property continues to grow, my time is getting busier (which is definitely a good problem to have when growing your own business!), so I’ve had to make the difficult decision to give up my regular Tuesday shift.

But I’m definitely not saying goodbye. I’ll still be popping in and helping whenever I can.

A massive THANK YOU to the St John Huapai Op Shop staff, volunteers and customers for making Tuesdays so much fun. I’ve met some wonderful people, had plenty of laughs and, apparently, developed a serious problem with the bargain shelves. 😂

Because here’s the thing…
I VOLUNTEER at an Op Shop… and somehow I STILL manage to spend money every Tuesday. 🤦‍♀️🛍️

If you have a St John Op Shop near you, I genuinely recommend volunteering. Whether you’re retired, working or studying part time, or like me, building a business and have a few hours to spare... give it a go!

You’ll meet great people, learn new things, help your community… and possibly come home with something you absolutely didn’t need. 😉
