🎉 A new role for Marleena! 🎉

We’re excited to announce that Marleena is stepping into the role of Technical Lead at C3 Building Compliance! 👏

Marleena brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team, and we’re incredibly lucky to have her expertise behind us. Her understanding of building compliance, technical requirements and problem-solving will be a huge asset as we continue to grow and take on new challenges.

Our third quarterly catch-up of the year 🗓️

This catch-up was all about the next stage for C3BC, with plenty of discussion around the team, upcoming work, and where we can continue to grow.

We discussed how Justin’s recent qualification as a suitably qualified OSET professional will add even more capability and knowledge to the business. We also looked ahead to the busy months coming up, with building consents, Certificates of Acceptance (COAs), and H1 energy efficiency reports becoming an increasingly important part of what we do.

It’s great to see more people looking at ways to bring existing building work into compliance through COAs, while others are looking to make their homes more comfortable, healthier and energy efficient through better H1 solutions. 🏡🌱

A productive catch-up, some great conversations, and plenty to look forward to as we head into a busy period!

A few simple checks upfront can save a lot of time, RFIs, and unnecessary delays later in the process 👇

Top 5 Things to Double Check Before Submitting Your Consent Application:

🏔️ Natural Hazard Assessments
Make sure any required natural hazard information or reports are included and aligned with the proposal.

📄 Doubling Up on Documents
Submitting duplicate files can slow the process down and make important information harder to find.

🧱 Geotechnical Engineer Plan Review
If the geotechnical report requires a final review of the consent plans, ensure this has been completed and documented.

🔍 Readable & Searchable Documents
OCR/searchable PDFs help processors quickly locate specifications and details without manually searching through hundreds of pages.

📚 Alternative Solutions
Any alternative solution should be clearly supported with reasoning, calculations, specifications, or expert documentation. compliance shouldn’t have to be assumed.

Getting the small things right upfront helps keep the consent process smoother for everyone involved ✔️

Some of the best conversations I’ve had lately haven’t been in meetings, networking events, or behind a screen.
