Buying a home? The purchase price is not the only cost.

Most first home buyers budget for the deposit and forget everything else. Legal fees, builder's report, LIM report, moving costs, insurance, and any repairs the property needs on day one.

A good rule of thumb is to set aside an extra two to three percent of the purchase price on top of your deposit for these costs.
