Last week, leaders from across Highmark Residential came together in Dallas for RISE 2026, our annual Leadership Summit built around three simple ideas: Connect. Communicate. Commit.

For three days, we stepped outside of the day-to-day to learn together, challenge our thinking, strengthen relationships across the organization, and align around what comes next.

There were plenty of memorable moments along the way, but what made the week meaningful was the people in the room. Leaders from across Highmark brought different experiences, markets, and perspectives together with one shared goal: becoming better for our teams, our residents, and the communities we serve.

When our people have the opportunity to connect, learn from one another, and understand the bigger picture, it strengthens how we communicate, how we make decisions, and how we show up for our teams across the Highmark Residential portfolio.

Please join us in welcoming Angela Stanberry to Highmark Residential as Regional Manager for the South Texas Region.

Angela brings nearly 30 years of multifamily housing experience, with a strong background in property operations, team development, asset performance, and strategic leadership. Throughout her career, she has overseen diverse portfolios across Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Tulsa, and Las Vegas.

Her experience spans stabilized communities, new construction and lease-ups, acquisitions and dispositions, and multimillion-dollar renovation projects. Angela has built a strong track record of improving property performance, driving NOI growth, developing high-performing teams, and leading communities through periods of transition and change.

In her role at Highmark Residential, Angela will support our Houston apartment communities with a focus on operational performance, team development, and creating strong experiences for both our residents and onsite teams.

Outside of work, Angela enjoys painting, gardening, and spending time with her family.

When Beverly joined Highmark Residential in 2016, she was looking for a company built on integrity, strong leadership, family values, and a genuine commitment to its people. A decade later, those values and the relationships she has built along the way continue to make her experience at Highmark meaningful.

Beverly brings nearly 30 years of multifamily experience to her role, with a career that began in leasing in 1996. Since then, she has built a strong foundation in property operations and leadership, supporting teams, communities, and residents throughout her career.

During her 10 years with Highmark Residential, Beverly has continued to strengthen relationships, develop teams, and provide steady leadership across our North Florida portfolio.

Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for thoughtful leadership, collaborative problem-solving, and an unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

In his role, Joseph will support construction and capital projects across Highmark Residential’s West Region apartment communities. His experience and attention to detail will help strengthen project ex*****on, support property performance, and ensure our teams and residents continue to benefit from well-maintained, thoughtfully improved communities.

We’re pleased to welcome Jordan Ross to Highmark Residential as Director of Strategic Initiatives.

Jordan brings nearly two decades of experience across multifamily operations, student housing, corporate operations, and PropTech, with a career focused on improving how teams work, how systems perform, and how strategy turns into scalable ex*****on.

Prior to joining Highmark Residential, Jordan spent nearly six years with Brookfield Properties, leading enterprise-level centralization, corporate operations, and strategic initiatives across its multifamily portfolio. His work supported the full prospect and resident lifecycle, helping reduce friction for onsite teams, strengthen controls, improve efficiency, support the resident experience, and deliver measurable portfolio impact.

In his role, Jordan will focus on strategic initiatives that improve processes, support vendor and technology decisions, strengthen operational performance, and help teams scale with confidence across Highmark Residential’s apartment communities.

Please join us in celebrating Jim Canon, Vice President of Asset Management, on an incredible 20 years with Highmark Residential.

Since joining Highmark Residential/Starwood Capital Group in 2006, Jim has played an important role in supporting asset management across a large multifamily portfolio. Today, he oversees asset management functions for 43 market-rate apartment communities totaling approximately 14,000 homes.

Jim brings decades of real estate, property management, development, construction, and asset management experience to his role. Throughout his career, he has supported multifamily portfolios across several major markets, worked with public real estate companies, and contributed to acquisition, disposition, financing, operations, and capital improvement strategies.

His steady leadership, deep industry knowledge, and long-standing commitment have made a meaningful impact on the teams, communities, residents, and partners he supports across Highmark Residential.

Outside of work, Jim enjoys spending time on the golf course.

Please join us in welcoming Kory LaVelle to Highmark Residential as Vice President of Operations for South Florida.

Kory brings more than 20 years of multifamily experience, beginning his career as a Leasing Consultant and growing into leadership roles focused on operations, lease-up strategy, portfolio performance, and team development across several major U.S. markets. His background includes experience with two of the largest REITs in the country, third-party property management, and oversight of portfolios with up to 15,000 apartment homes.

In his role, Kory will support operational ex*****on, resident satisfaction, and team performance across Highmark Residential’s South Florida apartment communities. He is passionate about building high-performing teams and creating a supportive, people-first culture where employees can thrive.

Outside of work, Kory enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with his two French Bulldogs, Dexter and Mona.
