You don't need to wait for the “perfect” market.

I've been in real estate and lending long enough to see buyers and sellers wait for all kinds of things.

Lower rates.
Lower prices.
More inventory.
Less competition.
The “right” time of year.

Here's the problem:

The perfect market doesn't exist.

When one thing improves, something else usually changes with it.

What matters much more is whether your circumstances, finances and goals make sense for a move—and then building a strategy around the market we're actually in.

Sometimes the right answer is go.

Sometimes the right answer is wait.

A good real estate conversation should help you figure out which one applies to you—not pressure you into either.

That's the kind of real estate I believe in.

Well… “I’ll be back next week” turned into about five weeks. 😂

Turns out selling things, moving, road-tripping, getting two girls settled into college in two different states, and trying to find a new normal takes a little longer than expected.

Life has been full lately—in some really good ways and some really exhausting ways.

But we're finally starting to settle in, find our rhythm again, and figure out what this next chapter looks like.

And I'm ready to get back to sharing some of the things I love here—Oregon, homes, real estate, country living, great properties, local places worth knowing about, and probably a little real life mixed in along the way.

So, consider this me officially checking back in. ❤️

I've missed being here. Let's get back to it.

The last couple of weeks have looked a little different around here.

We've been selling things, packing boxes, preparing for a move of our own, putting a whole lot of miles on the road, and getting our girls settled into college in two different states — Wyoming and Texas.

There have been lists and boxes and long drives and plenty of "where did we put that?" mixed in with some really big goodbyes.

And somewhere in the middle of all of it, social media got pushed pretty far down the list.

I'm okay with that.

Sometimes life asks you to be fully present for the season you're in.

This has been one of those seasons.

We're closing one chapter, watching our girls begin some pretty exciting chapters of their own, and getting ready to see what comes next for us.

It's exciting. It's bittersweet. It's a little chaotic.

And it's life.

I'll be getting back to talking about homes, Oregon, real estate and all the things we normally talk about here next week.

But for this week, I'm just grateful for the miles, the memories, the goodbyes and the new beginnings. ❤️
