🚨 PSA TO NEW HOMEOWNERS 🚨

Nobody tells you this part of homeownership…

Your smoke detector batteries will NEVER die at a convenient time.

Not at 2:00 PM on a Tuesday.
Not when you’re already awake.
Not when you actually have a spare battery handy.

They will wait until 4:00 AM.

And OF COURSE, it’ll be the smoke detector in the toddler’s room. So now the toddler is awake, the dogs are freaking out, everyone is upset and walking around half-asleep, and you’re stumbling around in the dark trying to figure out which detector is chirping. 😂

I swear, if I put a new battery in during the daytime, that battery should be legally required to give me a daytime warning before it dies.

Homeownership tip #1: Keep spare smoke detector batteries in the house.

Homeownership tip #2: Keep them somewhere you can actually FIND at 4 AM.

Homeownership tip #3: Accept that the smoke detector is in charge now. 😂🏡
