UPDATE – MISSING PERSON HAS BEEN LOCATED

(APPLETON, Wis., March 6th, 2026) – Maureen Van Elzen, who was previously reported missing, has been located deceased. The Appleton Police Department thanks the public for their attention and assistance, and we extend our deepest sympathies to her family. No further information will be released at this time. The public is encouraged to reach out to Sgt. Joe Lidbury at (920)832-5500 if they have information to assist in this investigation.

APPLETON POLICE SEEK HELP FINDING MISSING PERSON

(APPLETON, Wis., March 5th, 2026) – The Appleton Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating Maureen Van Elzen, a 64-year-old woman from Appleton. Maureen was last seen leaving her residence around 10:00 am on Monday, March 2nd, driving a dark purple 2009 Toyota Scion with Wisconsin plate AVA6137.

Maureen's family has not seen or heard from her since her departure, and this behavior is out of character for her.

Anyone with information related to Maureen Van Elzen's whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Lidbury at the Appleton Police Department at (920) 832-5500.
