💧 LOW WATER ON LAKE OCONEE — WHAT HOMEOWNERS & BUYERS SHOULD KNOW

If you’ve been around Lake Oconee lately, you’ve probably noticed the water is LOW! 👀 look at the water line mark on the dock!

Lake levels naturally fluctuate throughout the day due to operations at Wallace Dam, but extended dry conditions can lead to lower-than-normal levels for longer periods.

🏡 If you own lake property:
Now is a great time to take a look at your shoreline, seawall and dock area and note anything that may need attention.

🚤 If you’re boating:
Use extra caution around docks, coves and areas that are normally deeper. Low water can expose rocks, stumps and other hazards that you may not typically see.

🔑 If you’re buying lakefront property:
Low water can actually give you a unique look at the shoreline! Pay attention to water depth at the dock, the lakebed, seawall condition and how far the water recedes.

Do you know what it means when we say "caravan"? It's basically like a tour of homes for local agents. If you live in Madison, you know the tour of homes is a big deal in the Spring and at Christmas time! Well - we get to do one every month with new listings by our local agents.
