Let's be candid this week. I really want to sell this home in the next few weeks by getting it under contract. The feedback I've been getting is "It's a beautiful home, but the stairs..." or "It's a good home overall, but the neighbor's house..."
I'll address both. First, if the home was built with just two levels, all the owners would see if the trees or the tops of trees, which would definitely kill the views. By building the home up the way the sellers did, the views are more rich and available. In addition, these aren't the worst steps ever...the sellers are older and they get up and down those stairs just fine, and they are wide. Ideally, I wish they were inside leading to the main level, but the house could technically be two separate living quarters as there is a fully furnished suite below with large walkout closet, kitchenette, and full bath
The second concern brought up is the close proximity to the neighbor behind them. It's not as close as what you might think, but I get it. If you have a house with acreage, the one thing you might want also is privacy. For that, perhaps a fence between the two might offer additional privacy. There are also trees currently growing on or near the lines, which will offer additional privacy buffer in years to come. In addition, these neighbors have been great - they've been maintaining the yard while the sellers have moved back to Florida, and there are times where an additional hand might be handy when dealing with all the yard and upkeep a house with acreage has to offer.
So, let's make it happen! These sellers are ready to have their second home sold and put into the hands of buyers who love views, who don't mind a helpful neighbor, and can appreciate the quality and craftmanship of a custom built home.
