📈 The Historical Perspective: "6.7% is Actually Average. 📈

Buyers under 40 have only ever seen rock-bottom interest rates, making today's market feel artificially terrible.

The 50-Year Average: Over the last 50 years, the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate is roughly 7.75%. Today's rates are a full percentage point lower than the historical norm.The 1980s Reality: In 1981, buyers were facing 18% interest rates.

Buying a home today is nearly three times cheaper from an interest standpoint than it was for the Baby Boomer generation.The Pre-Crisis Normal: Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, rates consistently bounced between 6% and 8% during one of the healthiest economic stretches in U.S. history.
