Announcement From Paul
To the Athens Cycling Community,
In 2023, I founded Bobcat Bikes with a simple idea: to combine my passion for working in bicycle retail, with my love of Athens & Ohio University. While the journey has been rewarding, the time has come for me to pass the torch.
I am writing to share that May 23 will be the final day of operation for Bobcat Bikes.
I have reached an agreement to sell the store assets to Tim Kirkendall and Bob O’Neil. While the shop’s location and equipment will remain in place, the "Bobcat Bikes" name will retire with me. Tim and Bob will be launching a completely new business in this space. They plan to open their doors in early June with a fresh vision, new brands, and their own unique approach to serving the local cycling scene.
Because this is an asset sale and the new owners will be bringing in their own brands, I need to clear out all of my bikes. Now through May 23, we are holding a final Store Closing & Bicycle Liquidation Sale.
-This is your last chance to grab gear under the Bobcat Bikes banner at significant discounts.
-All bicycles must go, check our website for pricing and selection!
-Discounts on all Trek and Bontrager products.
Building this business from the ground up in 2023 has been a highlight of my professional life. I want to thank every one of you who walked through our doors, trusted us with your repairs, and supported mom-and-pop local retail. Athens is a special place to ride, and I’m proud to have been a part of your journey.
Please stop in before May 23 to say hello one last time, snag a final deal, and help me welcome Tim and Bob as they prepare to start their new venture.
Happy riding,
Paul Carter
