Friday’s Jackson Hole speech from Fed Chair Jerome Powell gave us exactly what the housing market has been waiting for: clarity and confidence. While Powell stayed measured in his tone, the key takeaway is simple:

The Fed sees enough progress on inflation to consider rate cuts as we head into the fall.

Why this matters for us in real estate
Mortgage rates already reacting: We’ve seen positive momentum in the bond market, which is translating into lower rates at the street level.

Buyers on the sidelines are listening: Clients who pressed pause earlier this year because of affordability are suddenly perking up again.

Inventory is moving: Sellers are becoming more realistic, and with rates easing, the gap between buyer expectations and seller reality is shrinking.

This moment feels like a reset button for the housing market.
