This solid five-panel wooden door is incredibly heavy, with oversized brass hinges and craftsmanship you just do not see every day. Around here, we jokingly call it the “door to nowhere,” but there is nothing ordinary about how this thing was built.

Sometimes the most interesting parts of an old home are hiding in plain sight.

If you want to know what a property can tell you when you slow down and look closely, this is a great example.

That bare section along the bottom of the cedar trees? Deer browse. During a Maine winter, deer use cedar as a food source and can reach higher as the snowpack builds. Then there are the practical details too, like a recently replaced sewer line connected to the city and one very solid railing added for the appraisal.

Homes always have a story, and sometimes the smallest details tell you the most.
