GBRAR - Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors

GBRAR - Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors One of the BR Metro's largest trade associations serving over 3500 real estate professionals.

The Greater Baton Rouge Association of REALTORS® was founded in 1926 as the Baton Rouge Real Estate Board, incorporated in 1941 as the Baton Rouge Real Estate Board, Inc., a not for profit corporation, and changed the name to Baton Rouge Board of REALTORS® in 1951. In 1992 the name was changed to Greater Baton Rouge Association of REALTORS®, Inc. In 1958 the Board applied for and was granted tax exemption status from the IRS as a 501(c) 6 organization. Some years later that exemption was not renewed and the Association currently operates as a regular for profit corporation, although the object of the Association is not now nor has it ever been to make a profit. We have grown from a small club of about 25 members to a large association of nearly 3000 members.

Bridging the Gap Between Appraisers and Agents explores the appraisal process from the appraiser’s perspective, including how square footage, bedrooms, comparable sales, price per square foot, and other property details factor into the process.
