I have some sweet clients who are in the process of buying this, very first home, and I’m honestly blown away by the program they’re using.

Like a lot of people, they assumed they needed a huge down payment saved up before they could buy. But thanks to one of Louisiana’s homebuyer assistance programs, they’re getting help with their down payment and closing costs, and they’re even being reimbursed for things like their appraisal and inspection.

In their case, it’s making homeownership possible much sooner than they ever imagined.

What’s really cool is that some of these programs provide up to 4% assistance toward your down payment and closing costs, and if you stay in the home for five years and meet the program requirements, that assistance may be forgiven.
