Bardwell Homes We are not just contractors or house builders. We are developers. We consider not only what you expect, but also what you don’t.

That means that when we design your home, we think beyond just the four walls, square footage, and popular finishes. Bardwell Construction is more than just a house builder. We've made a study of how people live – their relationship to their homes and communities. There are some elements of how we live that are timeless and can't be captured by simply building the most popular current floor plan,

or tacking on more expensive finishes and amenities. Those superficial elements are not unimportant, but we believe that they are not at the heart of what makes a house a home. Alone, they can't create the sense of home and community that makes our homes a place that fosters closeness, harmony and renewal. At Bardwell, we believe that there's more to a great home than what you see at the home show. In fact, we've built a business based on the philosophy that some of the most influential elements of 'home' are things that go unnoticed. We craft homes based on not only what you expect to see, but on what you don't expect. In fact, sometimes it's what's NOT there that makes the house, and the community, feel like home.

Our very own Scott Bardwell is on the cover of this month's Greater Baton Rouge Business Report!

The feature begins back to where it all started: a family legacy in homebuilding, 82 unsold lots during the financial crisis, and a decision to start building himself. From there, Providence on Highland Road. Then Stanford Oaks, Audubon Square, Veranda, and ultimately, the communities we're building today.

Benton at Magnolia Woods is in the press, and it's well-deserved.

Mukul Verma of RedEye BR covered the development this week, exploring the infill concept, the commercial building fronting Highland, and the possibility of a higher-end New Orleans restaurant on site (wink-wink).

Verma said, "Baton Rouge needs more infill projects like Benton. They add homes and retail without requiring new roads and utilities, as well as maintenance of infrastructure that accompanies sprawl." Well said!
