Our hearts are heavy today as we mourn the loss of our wonderful friend, colleague, and legendary real estate instructor, Lynn Madison, who passed away suddenly last night.

Lynn possessed a strong presence, a vibrant personality, and an incredible, amazing sense of humor that brought endless laughter to our community. She was truly a professional giant and one of a kind.

As an enthusiastic instructor, she was deeply passionate about professional development, bringing her vast knowledge and love of education to us all. The real estate community simply will not be the same without her.

Lynn gave so much to our real estate industry, to the people around her, and to so many of us who were fortunate enough to call her a friend. We will miss her and our chats, our shared laughs and her feisty spirit!

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and colleagues who will miss her dearly, as will we. Shine Bright Lynn.

It's good to review information as data centers continue to grow across the country and more information becomes available.
More Findings from the Report:
-- The 10 counties with the most data centers hold about 42% of all facilities nationwide, with Loudoun County alone accounting for 14% of all data centers.
-- Median household income is about $89,000 in counties with 10 or more data centers, versus $64,000 in counties without.
-- About 41% of adults in counties with 10 or more data centers hold a bachelor's degree or higher, compared with 22% elsewhere.
-- Employment grew about 16% from 2014 to 2024 in counties with 10 or more data centers, versus 2% in counties without.
-- Residential electricity rates rose 21.4% from 2020 to 2024 in counties with 10 or more data centers, compared with 15.7% in counties without.
-- Real estate firms make up about 6.4% of businesses in counties with 10 or more data centers, versus 4.9% in counties with none.

Data centers are booming, but their real estate impacts aren't one-size-fits-all. Our new NAR report finds outcomes vary widely by market, with local housing, economic, and infrastructure conditions shaping the story.

Twenty-three years ago, our nation faced one of its darkest days. But in the days that followed, we saw something remarkable — strangers helping strangers, communities coming together, and a shared resolve that reminded us what it means to stand as one.

Today, we honor the lives lost, the families who carry their memory, and the first responders and everyday heroes who ran toward danger to save others.

May we carry that same spirit of unity forward — not just in remembrance, but in how we treat one another every day.
