The Quad City Area REALTORS is a proud supporter of the Student-built home program. This initiative, a partnership with the Davenport School District and the Building & Trades Project Inc. gives students hands-on experience in the trades while building skills, confidence, and opportunities for their future.

We are proud to have had 4 REALTOR® member’s children involved in building this year’s project. As students complete the program, each participant who applies receives a scholarship from the Building & Trades Project to assist in furthering their future goals. Congratulations to all of the students, instructors, REALTOR® committee members, and community partners who helped make this home, and this experience, possible!

Members of the Quad City Area REALTORS (QCAR) joined colleagues from across the state in Coralville for the annual Iowa Realtors Summer Meetings, an event that combined professional development with networking opportunities. Attendees participated in a series of continuing education sessions, including courses focused on fraud prevention and wholesaling practices—topics of growing importance in today’s real estate environment. Organizers described the meetings as both productive and engaging, with strong participation throughout. In addition to the educational programming, members took part in networking events designed to strengthen connections within the industry. Among the highlights was the RPAC Derby Day celebration, where QCAR was represented by President Amanda Yeggy, Treasurer Jennifer Peters, and Director Carie Nesbitt.

Overall, the event provided an opportunity for real estate professionals to collaborate, learn, and build relationships that support their work across Iowa communities.

Our Annual Golf Outing is quickly approaching, and this year, it’s one you won’t want to miss! As we celebrate another great day on the course, we’ll also be honoring a very special milestone: this will be our CEO, Sharon Smith’s final QCAR Golf Outing before her retirement after an incredible 47 year career in the industry.

What a meaningful mission at QCAR to support our REALTOR® members serving as guardians on the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities. This initiative was started by past president Craig Newcomb Realtor for Ruhl and Ruhl in 2025, and we are proud to continue it today. On today’s flight, we have three REALTOR® members serving as guardians for our veterans as they travel on the 65th flight. Please join us in welcoming the guardians and veterans home tonight at Quad Cities International Airport around 10:00 p.m.

80 veterans, including a WWII vet, are on their way to Washington, D.C. along with their guardians who will help make sure they have an incredible day touring the monuments built in their honor. Join us tonight for the homecoming around 10 p.m.!
