Neighborhood Spotlight: Berkley
Berkley has that small village feel that's getting harder to find this close to a major metro area. It's compact, walkable in parts, and built around a genuine sense of community, the kind of town where people tend to stay put for decades once they land here. The school district is a big draw for families, but it's not the only reason people choose Berkley, there's also a strong local business scene, tree lined residential streets, and an easy fifteen to twenty minute drive into Detroit or Birmingham when you need it.
Housing stock here tends to be a mix of well kept older homes and newer builds, which means there's usually something available whether you're a first time buyer or looking to move up. If you want that close knit, small town feel without giving up access to everything Metro Detroit offers, Berkley is worth a serious look.
