East Haven might not be the first place that comes to mind when you think about buying near New Haven, but it deserves a closer look.

One of the most common things I hear from potential buyers is, “I need to fix my credit before I can even think about buying.”

Sometimes improving your credit is absolutely part of the plan. But you don't need to wait until your score is perfect before learning what your options are.

Different mortgage programs have different requirements, and your credit score is only one part of the financial picture a lender reviews.

You may qualify now. You may need a few months to prepare. Either way, getting accurate information gives you something much more useful than guessing: a plan.

I meet people all the time who have already decided homeownership isn't possible for them before they've ever had the conversation.

This is the kind of experience I want every buyer I work with to have.
