On June 5, the Logan Square community proudly joined family, friends, and community partners to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of Nuevo Día 2 Adult Day Health Center in West Roxbury. 🎉 We were especially honored to support one of our Logan Square community members, who recently began attending the center and is already enjoying the many opportunities it provides. Guests enjoyed inspiring remarks, valuable community resources, delicious food and desserts, exciting raffle prizes, and lively merengue and salsa music that made the day truly memorable. Thank you to the Nuevo Día 2 team for their warm welcome and commitment to creating a vibrant space that promotes connection, wellness, and community. 💙✨

🌟 Board Member Spotlight 🌟 Congratulations to BBH Board Member Richard Henken, President of The Schochet Companies, on receiving a Distinguished Leadership Award from JALSA. 🏆 Richard was recognized for his leadership in preserving Devenscrest Village in Ayer as affordable housing through a collaborative effort involving tenants, advocates, and state partners. The preservation of this 114-unit community helped ensure that families could remain in their homes with long-term affordable rents. 🏘️ We are proud to celebrate Richard’s commitment to housing stability, affordability, and community preservation.

Residents of Logan Square recently came together to plan and begin planting vegetables for the Logan Square Community Garden. This collaborative initiative helps strengthen neighborhood connections while promoting healthy, sustainable living. We look forward to watching the gardens flourish and sharing the harvest with the community in the months ahead. Together, we're growing more than a garden—we're growing community.

It was a pleasure to welcome Martha from FriendshipWorks to our Coffee & Conversation gathering at Logan Square. Residents learned more about the Friendly Visitor Program and its role in reducing social isolation among older adults through meaningful connection and companionship. We are encouraged by the many Logan Square residents who signed up to either be matched with a Friendly Visitor or volunteer as one themselves, and we look forward to seeing new friendships and shared experiences grow through this partnership. ☕🤝💙
