This is truly what it’s all about.

I’ve known this seller for 20 years, and when it came time for her to sell, there was an extra layer that meant a lot to me.  I’m also friends with her son-in-law, who used to be an agent himself.  When she was deciding who to work with, he simply told her, “Work with Scott.”

That kind of referral means the world to me.  When someone who knows the business trusts me with someone they care about, I don’t take that lightly.

After 38 years in this home, moving wasn’t an easy decision.  She went above and beyond getting it ready for the next family, and you could genuinely feel how much love and care had been put into every part of the house.  She wanted to leave it better than she found it, and she absolutely did.

From there, we did our job.  We prepared it properly, priced it correctly, executed the marketing plan, generated multiple offers, and were under contract quickly for over asking price.

Never had this one happen before…

As I was getting this listing prepared and the photos taken, the neighbor decided she wanted to buy the house.

My sellers loved the idea of selling to someone who already knew the neighborhood, appreciated the home, and understood all the work and care they had put into it. We were able to put a deal together that created a win for everyone involved.

I do wish I could have shown this one off a little more, though. Such a cool and unique Craftsman in Ypsi, with tons of character and some incredible gardens. Older homes with character are right up my alley, and this one definitely had it.

Sometimes the right buyer is closer than you think. 🏡
