Julie and I hosted our spring Flower Bar event at the WR office, and it was everything. Our guests got to create their own custom bouquets.

🚨Public Advisory: Property Rental Scams Using Local Addresses🚨

As we prepare for increased activity in the region surrounding upcoming World Cup events, the Canton Police Department has been made aware of a scam involving fraudulent rental listings using real residential addresses.

In these cases, individuals are posting homes often without the owner’s knowledge on platforms like Facebook Marketplace and similar sites, advertising them as short-term rentals. Victims are then directed to send deposits or full payment for properties that are not actually available.

What this means for Canton residents:
Your home or address could be used in one of these listings without your knowledge.

🔎 What to watch for:
• Unknown individuals showing up at or near your property expecting to check in or stay
• Someone contacting you about a rental listing you did not create
• Your home appearing online as a rental when you have not listed it
If this happens:
• Do not engage in any financial transaction
• Contact the Canton Police Department immediately
• If someone arrives at your property, notify us so we can respond and document the incident

General Reminder:
These scams rely on creating urgency and confusion. They are not connected to legitimate rental platforms or property owners.

We are working with our law enforcement partners to monitor and address this issue. If something doesn’t seem right, trust your instincts and contact us.

Our priority is protecting Canton residents and preventing these situations before they escalate.

Some really encouraging news for buyers: Fannie Mae recently removed the 620 minimum credit score requirement for DU loans (effective November 16, 2025).

This could make homeownership possible for people who might have felt discouraged before-especially those with

✅ Limited or thinner credit
✅ Non‑traditional credit
✅ Credit that's still being rebuilt
