Labor Day is a reminder to slow down, enjoy the long weekend, and appreciate the place where so much of everyday life happens.

Home can be the backyard where everyone gathers, the kitchen that stays busy all afternoon, or simply the quiet room where you finally get a little time to recharge. Those ordinary moments are often what make a property feel personal.

I am grateful to help people navigate the places where new chapters begin and routines become memories.

September is a good month for a simple home reset before cooler weather arrives. You do not need a major maintenance weekend to catch the small things that can become bigger headaches later.

Take five minutes and walk the exterior with fresh eyes. Look for clogged gutters, loose trim, worn weather stripping, slow drains, or areas where water is not moving away from the home properly. Inside, test smoke detectors and check the HVAC filter before the season changes.

A well-maintained home is easier to enjoy now and easier to prepare for market later. I see regular maintenance as part of protecting the story, condition, and long-term appeal of a property.

Pick one small task today. Future you may be very glad you did.

New construction deserves a place in more home searches this year. Builders in many markets are working through completed inventory, which can create opportunities that look different from a traditional resale purchase.

The appeal goes beyond being the first owner. Buyers may find modern layouts, lower-maintenance finishes, updated energy features, and communities designed around today’s routines. Builder incentives can also make it worth comparing the full picture instead of looking only at the list price.

As an eXp Realty agent, I encourage buyers to explore both resale and new construction when the goal is finding the strongest fit. Different paths can lead to the same outcome: a home that works for your life.

📬💸 WELL… LOOK WHAT SHOWED UP IN THE MAIL!

Property tax bills are rolling in, and mine officially arrived. Because apparently owning a house wasn’t enough of a reminder that we’re adults. 😂🏡

Before you panic, grab the checkbook, or consider selling everything and moving to a deserted island 🏝️🤣 — CHECK YOUR MORTGAGE!

👉 If your property taxes are escrowed into your mortgage payment, your lender will pay the bill for you.

So please… DON’T PAY IT TWICE! 😳
Uncle Sam and the tax office do not need an extra donation from you. 😂

✅ Check your escrow account
✅ Put that tax bill in your stack of paperwork for tax time next year

And YES — you can still receive a property tax bill in the mail even when your lender is paying it through escrow. So don’t let that envelope ruin your day! 😂
