This morning I hopped on Facebook and was so humbled by these kind words from Dowlen. It truly brought tears to my eyes—to feel seen, not just for what I do, but for the heart behind it.
Recently, someone asked me how long I’ve been a Realtor. When I said almost 25 years, she said, “Wow, you must love it.”
I smiled and said, “It’s not that I love it—the lack of boundaries can be hard.” She asked, “Then why do you do it?”
My answer was simple:
Because I love helping people… and I’m really good at it.
What I didn’t say in that moment is this—
For a long time, I found my worth in my work. In showing up, protecting people, standing up for them, and helping them find solutions. And while that has served me well in my career, this season of life has taught me something even deeper…
We are all worthy of love—without having to earn it.
So now, I’m learning to embrace both sides…
The ability to show up fiercely for others, and the ability to receive moments like this with a full heart.
Being a small part of such a big moment in people’s lives is something I don’t take lightly. And if I can be a light in the process, then I know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
God knew what He was doing. 🤍
