This morning I hopped on Facebook and was so humbled by these kind words from Dowlen. It truly brought tears to my eyesāto feel seen, not just for what I do, but for the heart behind it.
Recently, someone asked me how long Iāve been a Realtor. When I said almost 25 years, she said, āWow, you must love it.ā
I smiled and said, āItās not that I love itāthe lack of boundaries can be hard.ā She asked, āThen why do you do it?ā
My answer was simple:
Because I love helping peopleā¦ and Iām really good at it.
What I didnāt say in that moment is thisā
For a long time, I found my worth in my work. In showing up, protecting people, standing up for them, and helping them find solutions. And while that has served me well in my career, this season of life has taught me something even deeperā¦
We are all worthy of loveāwithout having to earn it.
So now, Iām learning to embrace both sidesā¦
The ability to show up fiercely for others, and the ability to receive moments like this with a full heart.
Being a small part of such a big moment in peopleās lives is something I donāt take lightly. And if I can be a light in the process, then I know Iām exactly where Iām supposed to be.
God knew what He was doing. š¤
