Carolina Queen for the win! To say I was excited is an understatement. I’ve been a fan of Top Chef since day one. Every course was delicious, and sharing it with good friends made it even better. Six years ago today, like so many families out there, we faced the heaviest news—my niece’s cancer diagnosis. I’ll never forget how she smiled, even then, knowing we’d face it together.

Fast forward to tomorrow: I’m flying home to California for her wedding! I couldn’t be more grateful or proud of her.

Hey everyone - you may have noticed I’ve been pretty quiet on here and not posting a ton. I actually deleted Instagram and Facebook from my phone for a bit (though I still check in from my laptop). I’ve been carrying this heavy feeling… a mix of guilt for sharing happy moments while so many people are hurting, here in our country and close to home, especially as a proud Chicano and product of immigrants.

Between friends losing loved ones and everything happening in the world, it felt hard to show joy. But I’ve also realized I can care deeply, hold space for others, and still live my life. I’m grateful, I’m still here, still working, in school for my CA RE license, still moving forward, and sending love to anyone who’s struggling right now. 🤍

Here are just a few moments from the past couple of months that have brought me a lot of joy.

This year had its ups and downs, met some incredible people and had to say some goodbyes to a few truly special ones along the way.

But this birthday is different. For the first time in forever, I’m celebrating it on a trip with both my brother and sister, just the three of us together in Cancun, which is something we’ve never done before. It’s a pretty amazing feeling.

It’s also been a fantastic year for my business, and I’m looking forward to a strong 2026. Plus, I quietly jumped back into college this year and just finished my first semester after 24 years away, and I’m gearing up to tackle my California real estate license next.

Feeling thankful, feeling optimistic, and feeling ready for what’s next. Cheers to another year!
