A Special Tribute to Our Veterans 🇺🇸

It was a meaningful day at The Village on Morehead as two of our members, Air Force veteran Alfred Rivera and Navy veteran Gerard “Gerry” Lynch, were honored with handmade Quilts of Valor in recognition of their service to our country.

Our local Quilts of Valor representative, Emily Davis, and her talented group created the two beautiful quilts and joined us for a special Quilt Awarding Ceremony. Alfred and Gerry shared memories from their time in the military and expressed their appreciation to everyone who gathered to honor them. Alfred also invited friends from the Matthews veterans community to join us for the occasion.

The Village on Morehead is proud to partner with the Quilts of Valor Foundation, a national nonprofit whose volunteers have awarded more than 444,000 handmade quilts to veterans across the country as lasting symbols of comfort, gratitude and appreciation for their service.

We are incredibly proud to call Alfred and Gerry members of The Village on Morehead and grateful for the opportunity to recognize their service and sacrifice.
