Meet one of our neighbors at McCreesh Place – and take a look at his vision board. 🎨

A few months ago, our neighbor sat down with Ms. Carol and the Life Skills team and started dreaming up a plan. What mattered most to him? Cooking for his "McCreesh Place family."

Fast forward to today: he's hosted cookouts, turkey dinners, and brought neighbors together around the table more times than we can count. ❤️

This is exactly why we love our Life Skills Program - it's not about checking boxes. It's about helping people figure out what excites them, and then giving them the tools to make it real.

We’re so proud of him and everything he's cooked up (literally)! 🙌

Ten years ago, Carol Berry walked through our doors as a Case Manager. Today, she leads our Life Skills Program, but ask anyone at SHC and they'll tell you Ms. Carol has always been and done so much more than her title suggests.

She's the person residents turn to when they're learning to budget for the first time, figuring out how to cook a meal on their own, or just need someone to believe in them while they build a life of independence. Her steady compassion has shaped countless success stories, one small win at a time.

Alongside her incredible Life Skills team, Ms. Carol helps our neighbors organize their spaces, build daily routines, and gain the confidence to manage life's everyday responsibilities - the skills that turn a house into a home and a fresh start into a future.

This week, we're celebrating Carol and her team for everything they pour into this community. Thank you for reminding our neighbors what they're capable of. 💛

300,000 in-kind contributions
523 individuals served
280 households served
211 children served
312 adults served
47 move ins

The impact goes beyond individual numbers as
93% of residents avoided emergency room related to mental illness
97% of residents in recovery did not relapse
94% of residents remained in stable housing

These numbers represent real people building stable and healthy futures while gaining community and support. Supportive Housing gives individuals and families a foundation to succeed. Thank you to those who have made it possible for families and individuals to find a place to live again.
