Affordable housing is defined as no more than 30% of household income being directed towards housing expenses. In Mecklenburg County, more low- and moderate-income households are struggling to afford housing as costs rise and the availability of low-cost housing inventory declines.

May is Affordable Housing Month and we applaud our supported organizations who are working tirelessly to assist individuals and families with access to affordable housing.
