In the summer of 2017, while back in Michigan visiting family, we stumbled upon this home after three years of searching for the perfect getaway. We knew instantly the setting this home is in was one of a kind. The mature trees, calming sound of Lake Huron, majestic views of the Straights, Mackinac Bridge, and Mackinac Island provide tranquility that we fell in love with. We hope that you enjoy it as much as we do and that Island View Shores will provide you with a getaway to make life lasting memories year after year. Welcome to your home away from home.

🐾 Meet Island View Shores’ newest (and possibly least qualified) employee… Roxy Rue!

Our newest little helper recently made her first official trip to the lakehouse, and she took her job VERY seriously.

Her inspection report:

✅ Beach — thoroughly inspected
✅ Living room floors — approved for toy chewing
✅ Inventory — supervised (sort of)
✅ Productivity — questionable
✅ Cuteness — 10/10

We’re still deciding whether she’s earned her first paycheck. 😂

Roxy has some pretty big paws to fill. Our sweet Dixie girl made countless memories here before crossing the rainbow bridge. She’ll always have a special place in our hearts and in the Island View Shores story. ❤️

Now it’s Roxy’s turn to make some lakehouse memories (and probably get into a little trouble along the way!).

And for those who may not know, Island View Shores is dog-friendly! Because some of the best family vacations include four paws and a sandy nose. 🐾

Did you know? Every Labor Day, the Mackinac Bridge closes to vehicle traffic for one morning, giving you the chance to walk the Mighty Mac.

It’s one of our favorite Northern Michigan traditions and such a fun way to wrap up summer Up North.

Island View Shores is already booked for Labor Day Weekend this year, but Labor Day Weekend 2027 is still available.

And our followers get first dibs before we open those dates on Airbnb and Vrbo.

We’re just 10 minutes from the Mackinac Bridge, so you can make a weekend of it! Enjoy the lake, explore the area, and head to the Bridge Walk Monday morning.
