One thing people tend to forget when planning their commute—or really anywhere they need to be on time—is drawbridge schedules.

Most bridge openings are fairly quick, but there’s no guarantee on exactly how long you’ll be sitting there. If a boat is still passing underneath, that bridge isn’t coming back down just because you’re already 5 minutes late.

So if your route takes you across one of Chesapeake’s drawbridges, check the schedule and give yourself a little extra time.

Because nothing humbles you quite like watching a sailboat casually cruise by while you’re supposed to be somewhere.

A piece of land might look like a blank canvas to someone else. To this family, it’s the beginning of something they’ve been planning for.

Officially CLOSED in Hertford, NC!

This buyer was referred to me by an agent in my Virginia office because I also hold my NC license. They already had their eye on a piece of land, but when that seller wasn’t willing to negotiate, we shifted gears.

Turns out, the lot right next door was available—and we were able to negotiate both the price and closing costs, get the septic testing completed, and make it to the closing table without a hitch.

Sometimes Plan B works out even better than Plan A. Another one officially closed!

Cannot wait to see how they develop this in the future!

September 11th is one of those days that feels frozen in time.

Most of us who were old enough to remember can still tell you exactly where we were when we heard. The confusion, the disbelief, the fear—and then the incredible stories of courage, sacrifice, and strangers helping strangers.

Twenty-five years later, I hope 9/11 never becomes just another date on the calendar.

Today I’m thinking of the 2,977 lives lost, the families who still carry that loss, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the service members and military families whose lives were forever shaped by what followed.

We remember the lives. We remember the courage. We remember how our country came together.

Where were you when you first heard? I’d love for you to share your memory below.
