It’s been a bungalow summer and we’re loving it. We’ve had four bungalows occupying our summer. This one on Monticello in Albany Park came out beautifully. Our client moved from a new construction condo and was unfamiliar with Chicago’s most popular style of home. We loved working with him to breathe new life into this beautifully maintained house and make it ideal for how he wanted to live.

Let’s talk “existing site conditions.” We tell every client that what we find behind the walls could change the scope, timeline, and/or budget. In this case, we wanted to save the existing framing of the old enclosed back porch. But the second the bead board came off it was clear that wasn’t possible. This is also why every project has a contingency budget!
