The start of baseball season reminds me of this relic that I still have on my shelf at home.

What feels like 75 years ago, in the 1980s and 90s, I'd keep this bedside to listen to Yankees games and WCBS. Mattingly, Winfield, Balboni, Sax. Some of the first players I remember thinking were the best of the best because they wore a Yankees uniform.

I guess it was my first foray into a love of radio that even led to a short stint working in the industry. Not to brag or anything, but if you listened to WHTG-FM (G Rock Radio) around 2006 or so, you may have heard me.

Wait, let me clarify.

If you listened to WHTG-FM at 4am on a Saturday or Sunday for one summer, you may have heard me.

Set the goal (not the assignment) to read 52 books this year, and managed to tackle 54 (ok, 52 if you're a literary snob and don't count graphic novels).

All-in, History led the pack with 15, which only further illustrates the theory that as men get older they either become history fanatics, or start smoking meats. I chose the former, but there's still plenty of time to pick up another hobby I guess.
