If you’ve never been to the Iowa Arboretum & Gardens, consider this your sign to add it to your Iowa bucket list 🌿🌳

One of my favorite things about living in Iowa is discovering the places right in our own backyard that make you think, “How have I never been here before?!”

The Iowa Arboretum is one of those spots. You can wander through beautiful gardens, explore woodland + prairie trails, check out the Children’s Garden, and let the kids burn some energy at the Treehouse Village. 🌲

Adults + ages 13+: $12
Kids ages 3–12: $7
Ages 2 & under: FREE
Members: FREE

🕐 Hours:
Weekdays: 9 AM–4 PM
Weekends: 10 AM–4 PM

A few things to know:
✨ Plan for a couple of hours if you want to explore
✨ Comfortable shoes are a must
✨ Bring water, sunscreen + bug spray
✨ There are plenty of spots for kids to explore
✨ Don’t skip the Treehouse Village!

And after 12+ years, this is what it all comes down to:

Real estate is about so much more than contracts and houses.

It’s about people. Communication. Patience. Trust.

It’s about knowing when to listen, when to advocate, when to give someone space, and when to step in and help.

It’s about continuing to learn, staying curious, and never thinking you’ve “made it” enough to stop growing.

And most importantly, it’s about having the right people in your corner.

I’m incredibly grateful for the people who have trusted me with some of the biggest decisions of their lives over the last 12+ years.

And I’m still learning something new every day.

A love letter to the end of summer in Des Moines, from someone who’s never leaving. 🤎

I’ll miss the slow mornings, my summer coffee order, park days with my kids, staying outside until dinner, spontaneous ice cream runs, warm evenings, farmers markets, and all the little moments that make this city feel like home.

There’s something about summer in Des Moines that makes you want to hit pause—and I’m not quite ready to let it go. ☀️

Here’s to soaking up the last little bit of summer weather.

And while I’m sad to see summer go, I’m looking forward to all the seasons still to come in a place I’m so lucky to call home. 🏡
