Back by popular demand…The Harvest Moon Series…a four part series of the chronicles of turning a really bad decision 😂 into our home. Series sounds fancy. Something I am not. However, I have a crush on homes in general, but some good old fashioned DIY makes this girl flat out swoon. I’m excited to start sharing some before and afters from our last home. Guys, it was rough. Ugly, hideous, dirty, and did I mention UUUGLY? Purple siding, purple shutters, purple flashing, purple soffit, purple garage door AND RED BRICK!! Who DOOOOEES that?!! We found them. We found the humans who do that. This series will focus on how to DIY on the cheap...which is most of the fun for me.
It’s a puzzle. A challenge. The thrill of the hunt. Basically, how can I pull off this idea...whatever it is, on way less.
Sounds mediocrely (not a word) lameish(also not a word) to get kicks and giggles off of that. These DIYS are not fancy…already noted I’m not that, but with a frugality that would make my ULTRA frugal mama proud. So enjoy photos 1 and 2. Highlights: took down a tree that had weirdly grown in front bed (free with the husband and dad), painted all the purple a greige($400 for paint and ...a really great friend named Shane that erased the Barney House of Shame in about 5 hours...still stunned, painted front door($25), new door handle(Amazon $49), hardware on garage(sale $10), new landscaping($5 starters from neighbor), new exterior lights ($10 garage sale) replaced wooden laughably scrawny posts with beams(free from someone giving away). Stay tuned for the 1/2 bath of nautical nightmares.
