📚 A few books that became favorites this past year… stories that blend history, creativity, and influence.

From Empresses of Seventh Avenue and its fascinating look at the birth of American fashion during WWII, to Claire McCardell: The Designer Who Set Women Free, the story of a designer who quietly shaped how women dress today.

And every now and then, a novel like The Book of Lost and Found by Lucy Foley. I loved her The Guest List à la Agatha Christie style. While this wasn’t a mystery, it had a beautifully tragic interwoven story of how one decision changes your entire life. I can see why she was chosen to continue the Miss Marple character in her upcoming book Murder at the Grand Alpine Hotel. I’ll be reading that when it releases in September!

I’m just starting The Lost Art of Dress (recommended by a friend who knows my love of fashion).
