Team Rockbridge Honors Veterans Through Service at Green Lawn Cemetery.

On September 11, a team from Rockbridge spent several hours at Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus, cleaning and caring for the grave markers of U.S. veterans – some dating back to the Civil War.

Green Lawn is the second-largest cemetery in Ohio and the final resting place of more than 6,600 veterans, including five Medal of Honor recipients. With so many veterans buried there, the cemetery relies on volunteers to help preserve and care for their headstones.

The timing made the experience especially meaningful with it being the 25th anniversary of September 11th. “To remember the veterans who have sacrificed for our freedom and independence – and to be able to do it on 9/11 and remember all the Americans who were lost that day – is humbling and important,” said Jimmy Merkel, CEO and Co-founder, Rockbridge.

The whole team found the work fulfilling and impactful and was an opportunity to live our values through service to our community. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and to Green Lawn Cemetery and Matt Wolf.

Pedaling for a Purpose: RTRX x COSI Kids' Ride Raises Funding and Awareness for Pediatric Cancer Research

Rockbridge, with its key partners, RTRX, COSI and Pelotonia, recently brought together kids, families, corporate partners, and the Columbus community for the RTRX x COSI Pedal into Discovery Pelotonia Kids' Ride.

Thank you to all the kids, parents, sponsors, and volunteers. The event gave young riders the opportunity to experience the spirit of Pelotonia while making a
meaningful impact in the fight against cancer.

Nearly 200 kids registered to participate, with additional riders joining the fun on event day. Together, the event raised needed funding and awareness for cancer research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Beyond the dollars raised, the day was about introducing the next generation to the power of community and showing kids that you’re never too young to make a difference.

Jimmy Merkel led an amazing group of leaders at the recent Hotel Business Magazine roundtable hosted by Rockbridge focused on its luxury lifestyle platform. Merkel said the company has deliberately spent years building the platform before talking publicly about it.

“We’ve been doing it quietly because we had a long-term goal, and you can’t be great overnight because championship teams don’t get built overnight,” he said. “We’ve been doggedly focused on the long-term outcome.”
