Engel Voelkers Samara Costa Rica Global Real Estate Advisor After a short time she switched to a commercial real estate brokerage developing a new REO asset management department.

Starting in 2008 Dawn began her career in real estate working with a short sale real estate specialist where she primarily focused on marketing campaigns and developing new business. From 2010 to 2014 she worked with Zions and Chase bank managing their commercial and residential REO portfolios. This included broker selection, property management, and contract negotiation. With over $50 million in transactions in 4 years she decided to get out of the REO management industry and work with local buyers and seller's directly. She transitioned to residential real estate in 2014 after the REO market shifted and she was able to take her social media/ online marketing background and provide her new residential clients with something new and different. Dawn bought her first property in Costa Rica in 2016. She has been traveling back and forth living and enjoying everything in Costa Rica. In 2023 Dawn moved her family full time to Samara. She is excited to share all she loves about this country with buyer and sellers here in her happy place. Dawn understands that buying a home can be the biggest purchase in a person life and having someone by their side to listen to their needs and wants is a top priority. She prides herself with her knowledge of the current market, 24/7 communication, support, and strong negotiating skills to enable her clients to make sound, timely, and secure decisions for their families. Costa Rica’s forest comeback is pretty incredible. 🇨🇷🌿

After decades of forest loss, Costa Rica changed course. The country’s 1996 Forest Law strengthened forest protection and helped create the framework for conservation and restoration, followed by additional measures supporting the sustainable management of secondary forests. 🌱

The results speak for themselves. Forest cover, once estimated at just over 20%, has recovered dramatically. According to the latest FAO data reported by the World Bank, forests covered approximately 60.4% of Costa Rica’s land area in 2022. 🌳🦥🦜

What I love most is seeing how much of Costa Rica has returned to green within just a few decades. It’s a reminder that environmental recovery really is possible when conservation becomes a long term priority. 💚

There is still work to be done, but Costa Rica’s forest recovery continues to be an inspiring part of the country’s story.
