🎉 Congratulations to Fire Tower Camp!

We’re excited to celebrate the completion of the fire tower stairs at Fire Tower Camp in Cullman County!

Located along Smith Lake, Fire Tower Camp has envisioned the historic lookout tower as a signature attraction for the property and another unique way to experience this beautiful part of our county.

Congratulations to the entire Fire Tower Camp team! We can't wait until the project is completed and open to the public in 2027!

Did you know you can cook a full meal at Fire Tower Camp? 🍳🔥

Our kitchen is fully stocked and ready for you, with an oven, microwave, refrigerator, sink, coffee station, and everything you need to make your stay feel a little more like home.

Want to cook outside? Head out to the upper deck, where you’ll find both a gas grill and a charcoal grill. Or keep it simple around the fire pit down by the water. 🔥🌊

And grabbing groceries is easy. Dollar General, Crane Hill Market, and Sweatmon’s are nearby, so you can pick up meat, produce, snacks, and whatever else you need for lunch, dinner, or a late-night bite.

Pack the groceries, bring your favorite recipes, and make a meal with a pretty incredible view.

That’s part of the fun of staying at Fire Tower Camp. 🏕️

We’re so excited to share this! The old Monte Sano Fire Tower has a new home at Fire Tower Camp.

It’s officially back together, and we’re working on rebuilding the stairs so it can be safely enjoyed again. We can’t wait for the day y’all can come climb it and take in the view!

Thanks Huntsville Adventurer for sharing our story and helping spread the word! ❤️

The fire Tower was auctioned off, it was taken down with a crane, moved, and it just finished reassembly. The stairs are no longer rotting. And soon you'll be able to climb it.
Fire Tower Camp on Smith Lake is now home to the old fire Tower on Monte Sano. Although we miss it here in Huntsville, I can't wait to climb this legally. They have put it back together and are in the process of rebuilding the stairs. Their plan is to have it open to the public for free.
Y'all be sure to follow them along. They're doing exciting stuff down there! Including an amazing Airbnb immersed in nature on Smith Lake.
