Thoughtful Thursday ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ What a fun day this was with our Cherry on Top neighbors.💕 So gracious and welcoming! We've visited several times over the months but recently when out for the weekend we were invited into their shop and home and lives. They shared wisdom, so many gifts (from these gorgeous laser crafted cutting boards--which are proudly displayed in the great room--to walleye from the freezer to hundreds of pictures caught on their cameras of elk and lions, just around the corner from us!) and most importantly, their friendship. What a treasure 💰
We have been blessed with the best on Steckelberg valley road. Surrounded by people who reach out when there is an issue, people who keep watch on things for us, people who help us out in time of need. It makes this journey all the more a wonderful ride 🎡

One of our favorite things to do when we get out to our rental is to read the guest book 📚😍 We usually wait until evening of our first day out, after we have tackled the to do list! Yes, there is ALWAYS a to do list and it usually takes more than a day to complete! 🔨
We love to clean up, make supper, grab a glass of wine 🥂and enjoy what our guests have said about their stay! It is truly a highlight for us!
I never used to write when staying somewhere and now, after the 👟 is on the other foot 🦶🏻, I always do 💯

Tuesday -trip through the Cherry On Top!
Is the laundry room very exciting at a vacation rental? ...nahhh.
But it is a necessity! We are lucky to have a very functional laundry room that wears many hats!

Thankful Thursday 💕
You know it's not always hearts and flowers and stars running the Cherry On Top . SOMETIMES its explosions and burning and smoke!!!!!
I got a call 📞from our guest that there had been an incident with the microwave. She had put her cup of coffee ☕in the microwave to warm and very quickly it turned into a scary situation. Unknown to her (and me as well) the EMBER has some metal parts inside and doesn't like to be heated by microwave! In fact, it really ticks it off 💥Needless to say, the cup exploded and the microwave blew up. It threw flaming hot🥵 pieces everywhere and ended up burning the floor in a few places.

So WHY would I be thankful???? Several reasons I guess. First, my sweet guest told me she always stands directly in front of the microwave waiting for her coffee to warm. Thankfully, this time she didn't.🙏🏻 Who knows what injuries she would have sustained. Second, it really could have been a bad bad situation with damage for the Cherry, but it only filled the house with smoke, left us to replace the microwave and with some spots of character on the floor.😁And third, since I needed to get the microwave replaced, I was able to deliver it to our guests and what a treat🍬! I met the sweetest, most joyful people and got to visit with them for a time, all because of a cold cup of coffee. Ya, I'd say I have lots to be thankful for today.
