This is true in so many ways. It's not really relevant whether real estate reality shows are "real". People follow the shows and are being programmed to do their house hunting the same way. When listing a home, especially with a homeowner who last bought over ten years ago, the challenge for me, as a Realtor, is to educate them so that they understand that the middle realm is disappearing. People now expect "move-in ready" and do not want to do their own upgrading. They want the home to hit all of the points on their expectation list. A seller cannot list high and plan on dropping the price later when they get no offers. They are already classified in the marketplace as not even being worth making an offer to.
