I just got back from touring this Victorian mansion, and I think I’m in love… it was originally built in 1899, and has been almost completely untouched since then with classic old house features including a grand staircase; Victorian molding; multiple butlers pantries; a turret, fireplaces with original tilework; and more. As if all that wasn’t enough, the history behind the house is also FASCINATING — it was owned by pioneering surgeon Dr. Ora Levant Pelton, who lived there up to his death in 1941 and even maintained a small, at-home examination room/study on the first floor (hence that gorgeous, curved built-in hiding the sink.) What’s your favorite part?

A few days ago, I toured this enormous, Victorian mansion in Elgin Illinois — which is currently on the market at $550,000! I am SO in love with this home. It’s the kind of place that makes me want to start a commune with all my friends… Highlights include a massive front porch; a grand, sweeping staircase; a turret and a TOWER (with the actual cutest reading nook;)a pastel-pink library; a butler pantry; a servants quarters; and much, MUCH more… I’m hard at work editing my footage, and it’s already looking like a two parter! Today’s Zillow listing is a cooorful, 1970s throwback in Euclid Ohio, currently on the market at $275,000. The listing photos definitely leave something to be desired, but if you squint you can see some GORGEOUS original details. My favorite part is the primary bathroom, which feels like something out of Jayne Mansfield’s Pink Palace. It’s decked out in deep pink s**g carpet, and comes with a complete suite of pastel-pink, 1970s fixtures, including a sunken tub (an old fashioned house feature I’d LOVE to see come back in style.) other highlights include a harvest-gold kitchen with vintage appliances; two more all original bathrooms; and a second story party room complete with a bar, funky furnishings, and access to a wrap around balcony. What do you think — would you renovate, or preserve the vintage vibes?

I genuinely cannot believe somebody covered this up! These are my dining chairs. I’ve always loved the shape but HATED the ugly, brown nalgahyde upholstery. Which is why I was SO happy to discover the GORGEOUS, original 1950s upholstery underneath! And it matches my color palette exactly?!? It was meant to be… they need a little maintenance, but I’m happy to report after it’s first scrubbing, it’s looking MUCH better.

This $7,000,000 mansion in Old Westbury, New York has been frozen in time since the 1980s, with an glamorous interior that feels straight out of an old episode of Dynasty. From the glass-and-brass, hotel-like foyer with its grand staircase and the overstuffed, pastel pink living room, to the all-original bathrooms with vintage fixtures and the two-story primary suite, this home is extra in all the best possible ways.

This colorful, saucer-shaped, 1970s dream home — which just hit the market for the first time since it was built at $260,000 — is PACKED with gorgeous, retro features: an all-original kitchen with vintage avocado colored appliances; an octogonal living room with soaring ceilings; SO much amazing old wallpaper; a basement den; and so much more. Personally? I wouldn’t change a thing.

It’s been a while since I coveted a house so severely. This Xenia, Ohio home (currently on the market for $425,000) was built in 1973, and has been almost completely untouched since then, with all its fabulous original features in-tact and in near-mint condition. Highlights include — unpainted woodwork; floor to ceiling windows; built-ins; an all-original kitchen with retro appliances; bathrooms with colorful fixtures; and more. But my favorite part is the basement, which needs work, but has an honest-to-god conversation pit — the dream! What’s your favorite part?

Today’s listing has been almost completely untouched since the late 1970s! This one -almost- tricked me, with its comparatively tame first few rooms. But by the time I scrolled over to the family room — with its wild, two-tone textured s**g, taxidermy wall, and water feature — I knew I was in for a treat: a theory that was confirmed by the “outer-space-meets-saloon” themed basement bar. What’s your favorite part?
