I’m still hard at work editing my full-length tour of this AMAZING 1970s time-capsule in Paw Paw, Michigan (currently on the market at $700,000) but in the meantime, here’s a preview! Presented for your approval today we have the palatially-proportioned basement rumpus room (featuring a bar, billiards lounge, fireplace, and potentially the wildest carpet ever featured on this page;) an all-original vintage kitchen with vintage appliances and tile counters; a sunken living room; a resplendently-wallpapered laundry area; and more! A few weeks ago, I got together with and Realtor to tour their their AMAZING 1970s time-capsule house, which they are in the midst of restoring. The home — which used to belong to a well-known Pl***oy photographer — has a lot going for it, but my favorite part (for obvious reasons) is the living room — with its full bar, fireplace, and built-in, stucco covered seating area which was truly unlike anything I’ve seen before — Think… an above-ground conversation pit. The whole room has a very Santorini, resort-y vibe to it (mixed in, of course, with a healthy dose of 70s futurism. Other highlights of the home include “patchwork-style” tilework;a library; kidney shaped-pool; a seriously cool breakfast bar; a double-height photo studio; and more. Thank you again to Jered and Brittani for the tour!

Today, I drove to the adorably-named Paw Paw, Michigan to tour this almost untouched 1970s time-capsule house! My full tour is coming soon, but for now here’s a preview of a few of my favorite features including the wide variety of s**g carpeting; the gorgeous vintage wallpaper; and the basement billiards lounge. A LOT more to come! Thank you to the listing agent Danielle Baker (of Re/Max hometown) for letting me tour the place — you can check out the listing at the link in my bio

Is this the coolest apartment in Milwaukee? Probably! This is the kitschy-cool, tchotchke-filled, 1970s-inspired “time-capsule” owned by musician and content creator duBois and his partner . A few weeks ago I got the grand tour, and now I want to return the favor. Highlights include a bar/recording studio; a kitchen filled with vintage household appliances (including a microwave that nearly brought a tear to my eye); sooo much macrame; and more.

A few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting up with indie musician (who incidentally has a new album coming out tomorrow!) at the 1970s, time-capsule apartment he shares with his partner . My full tour of the apartment (which is two stories tall and includes features like a bar, a spiral staircase — plus an additional hidden staircase in the bathroom— a wall of velvet paintings, and more) comes out tomorrow, but in the meantime, here’s a little taste.

Life got ahead of me so it’s time for one of my trademark, beloved (?) lazy posts! Today’s posting is an almost completely untouched, late 1960s mid-century — a time capsule in the truest sense of the word, and in my book a neat-perfect home. Highlights include — a sunken living area;an all-Original kitchen with vintage harvest gold appliances; three bathrooms with colorful 1960s fixtures;a floating staircase;and more! And all for only $399,900 (he said as if he would ever be able to afford a house.) What’s your favorite part?

Today, during my daily scroll of Zillow, I found this amazing mid-century time-capsule house with one of my favorite architectural features — a conversation pit! Why did we ever stop making those? In addition to the out, the house has some gorgeous, unpainted mid-century woodwork, a floating staircase, a few original bathrooms, a palatial primary suite with a private balcony, and more. What’s your favorite part?

Welcome to the — one of the most unforgettable homes I’ve ever toured. This lavish, 1970s Las Vegas home — which was recently featured on Architectural Digest — belongs to artist and model Carlotta Champagne, who has spent the past five years restoring the home to its kitschy glory. It comes complete with a dark and moody media room;marble floors; multiple shades of s**g carpet; a sunken living area; a nearly all-original kitchen; indoor pool; and SO much more.

This 1880s Victorian townhouse — which I covered a month ago when it first hit the market — just sold for $299,000. I’ll be honest — I’m nervous about this one! PLEASE don’t let the new owners be flippers… It’s in rough shape, but the potential is unreal, with tons of original 1880s features including woodwork;built-ins;a grand staircase; a butlers pantry; SO many fireplaces; and more.
