Today, while I was knocking out a few projects at the office, I looked over and saw this sweet moment—Mason helping Maci with her schoolwork (we school year round).

It reminded me that learning doesn’t just happen during the school year. Whether it’s summer break, at the office, around the kitchen table, or in everyday life, growth happens year-round.

The same is true in real estate. Markets change, neighborhoods grow, financing programs evolve, and there’s always something new to learn. The best Realtors never stop studying, asking questions, and finding ways to better serve their clients.

Today, Mason was the teacher. Maci was the student. Tomorrow, their roles may be reversed. That’s the beauty of learning—it never really ends.

And honestly, that’s one of my favorite parts of real estate too. Every client, every home, and every transaction teaches me something new.

❤️ Grateful for hardworking kids, flexible schedules, and an office that sometimes doubles as a classroom.

If you’ve been thinking about making Florida home…

Florida lawmakers have approved a proposed constitutional amendment that would increase the homestead exemption from the current $50,000 to $150,000 in 2027 and $250,000 in 2028. The amendment will now go before Florida voters this November and will require 60% approval to pass.

One detail that has a lot of people talking: under the proposal, Floridians who establish residency before January 1, 2027, could qualify for the enhanced exemption immediately if the amendment passes. Those who establish residency after that date may be required to wait up to five years before receiving the full benefit.

A few other highlights:

🏡 School taxes would still apply.

🏡 The cap on annual assessment increases for non-homestead properties would drop from 10% to 5%.

🏡 Florida voters will have the final say this November.

Whether you’re relocating from another state, making Florida your permanent home, or simply keeping an eye on the market, this is definitely something worth watching.

One of my favorite things about DeLand is the art woven throughout the historic town!

The murals, sculptures, and colorful local artwork add so much life and personality to the streets. Around every corner, there’s something creative, meaningful, and beautiful to stop and admire.

This town brings people together and tells stories. The artwork adds so much character to this beautiful community. 💕
