The very definition of hero’s 🇺🇸 It’s hard to believe Friday marks 25 years since September 11, 2001.

This week, 7,620 American flags cover Art Hill in Forest Park—each representing a life lost on 9/11 or a service member who made the ultimate sacrifice in the War on Terror.

Because these aren’t simply 7,620 flags.

Each has a name. A photo. A story.

As a military and law enforcement family, with one son who served and another currently serving on active duty, this one hits especially close to home.

If you’re in St. Louis, the Flags of Valor Sunset Ceremony is Friday, September 11 at 7 PM on Art Hill. I can’t think of a more meaningful way to honor them.

There are moments in life when we remember exactly where we were when the world suddenly changed. September 11th is one of those for me. 💔

25 years later, we remember. We honor. We never forget.
The best way to honor those we lost on 9/11 is to be the people we were on 9/12. 🇺🇸

We’ve been keeping a pretty big secret… ❤️ we just closed on 18 acres!

Who would have thought—a country boy who spent his life in law enforcement and a West County girl who spent hers selling houses would someday find their own little piece of the country but not…

For almost a year, we searched and searched…and honestly started wondering if what we wanted even existed.

Then, after our wedding six months ago, I decided it was time to stop waiting and start thinking outside the box.

Years ago, I had the opportunity to build custom homes in this special little pocket of West County. Every time I drove along these winding country roads, I remember thinking:

Someday.

It has always felt a little enchanted to me—minutes from everything, yet somehow you feel like you’ve escaped to the country.

So we started writing letters to families who owned some of the old farms in the area.

We told them our story and our dream of creating more than just a home—a place where our children could be close, where someday grandchildren could run around, and where everyone would always want to come home.

And one family said yes. ❤️

Maybe my favorite part of this story is that they’d been approached by builders before, but this wasn’t just land to them. They wanted it to go to a family who would appreciate its history (and WOW, wait until you hear about this) and honor what came before us.

After all my years in real estate, I love that reminder:

Sometimes value isn’t measured only in dollars. Sometimes it’s measured in legacy.

And yes…the real estate agent hired a real estate agent. 😂

Land and acreage aren’t my specialty, and knowing what you don’t know is just as important as knowing what you do. We truly couldn’t have done this without our agent, Ann.

So here we are…
