Had a great day mentoring the Shelter kids today! We visited the Lock and Dam No. 11 to learn about how barges lock through the Mississippi River. Unfortunately, no barges came through while we were there. We then headed to the Dubuque Shot Tower to learn about how lead shots were once manufactured. And, of course, no mentoring trip would be complete without a stop at Dairy Queen for a treat! A great day of learning, exploring, and spending time together.

Open Closet shopping event is Saturday, June 6, 9 to 11 AM. Our wonderful church ladies from Lord of Life have the Mens area fully stocked. We still have a great assortment of swimsuits for kids. And we just got a shipment in from a local clothing distribution center and have a number of new items we put out. Come check us out!

Please share! From 8-10 p.m. there is an additional incentive of a percentage of $6,250 from Midwest One for the top sites receiving donations. This is our first year on ! We are so appreciative of all the donations! We currently are up to $9,770 raised by 19 donors so far to help support the Almost Home Men with Children Shelter, providing programming and secure housing for homeless families in the tri-state area.
