Consider this your official service-area map. 📍

Henderson, Chapel Hill, Durham — this whole area has been home in one way or another: where I grew up, where I went to school and worked for years, and where I live now. This isn’t really a marketing decision — it’s just my life. Every place I mentioned is somewhere I’ve actually lived, worked, or grown up minutes from.

That’s probably why I’ve never been able to think about real estate as a “city limits” kind of business. Home doesn’t stop at a sign on the highway, and neither does the way I show up for people.

I really do like knowing my market inside and out. But if your next chapter is taking you somewhere outside this map, I’ve got a network of trusted agents I work closely with, so you’re still in good hands either way.

💛 Nana’s Sunday table, seven days a week — that’s the whole idea behind Bella Monica.

Chef/owner Corbett Monica opened this Raleigh trattoria back in 2000 with his wife Julie, built around childhood memories of Sundays at his grandmother’s house — the smell of “gravy” simmering on the stove, family trickling in all afternoon, no one leaving the table until the laughter ran out. That spirit is still the whole menu: sauce made with San Marzano tomatoes the same way Nana made it, thin-crust Neapolitan pizzas, fresh and dry pasta, local pork, beef, and NC seafood, and an all-Italian wine list to go with it. They also have a dedicated gluten-free menu — including gluten-free bread and pasta — so no one at the table has to sit out Nana’s gravy. And for nights you want it at home, curbside takeout is always an option.

Whether you’re planning a big family dinner, working around dietary needs, or just craving a plate of pasta that tastes like someone’s grandmother made it, Bella Monica is a Triangle gem worth knowing.

Every fall, I catch myself thinking about the same thing: that fresh-start feeling. New supplies, new routines, a little nervous energy mixed in with a lot of hope.

💛 Three million books and counting — that’s what Book Harvest has put directly into the hands of Durham’s kids since 2011.

Their whole mission is built around a simple idea: literacy starts at birth, in the home. So every book they give away is a keeper, not a loan — helping families build their own home libraries from day one. You’ll find their books in some pretty unexpected places, too. A 24/7 donation bin at 2501 University Drive. Community bookshelves tucked into local businesses. Even laundromats, through their “Laundromat Literacy” program. They partner with schools, doctors’ offices, and community spaces all over Durham so a book is never out of reach for a family that wants one.

Whether you’ve got books to clear off your own shelves, you’re looking for a place to volunteer, or you just want to support an organization doing real good in this city, Book Harvest is a local gem worth knowing.

This closing was a special reminder that finding the right home isn't always about where you start—it's about listening, adapting, and staying open to possibilities.

We initially focused on single-family homes, but as we talked through what would best support this family's needs today and into the future, a condo quickly rose to the top. With one-level living, elevator access, and no exterior maintenance, it ended up being a perfect fit—and one they hadn't originally considered.

I'm so grateful to the agent who referred this family to me and for the opportunity to walk alongside them during such an important transition. Wishing them comfort, peace, and many happy moments in their new home.

This closing is a reminder that every home—and every market—has its own journey.

When this seller was referred to me by a former teacher I worked alongside, I was genuinely touched. Referrals like these mean the world because they're built on trust, and I don't take that lightly.

The townhome market has been especially competitive, with buyers having no shortage of options. Instead of expecting different results from the same approach, we looked for creative ways to market this home, stayed patient, communicated often, and kept moving forward.

Last week, all of that came together at the closing table. 💛

I'm incredibly grateful to my sellers for trusting me through the process, especially from a distance, and so excited for the buyers, who are thrilled to call this home their own.

I recently had the privilege of helping a college friend and her family relocate back to the Triangle for a new job. We hadn't seen each other in years, so it was incredibly special to reconnect in such a meaningful way.

Buying a home is a big decision. Buying one from several hours away adds another layer of complexity. I'm so grateful they trusted me to be their eyes, ears, and advocate throughout the process.
