The North Georgia State Fair rolls into Marietta this Thursday, September 24, and runs through October 4 — rides, fair food, live entertainment, and all the carnival classics for a week and a half straight.

It's about 90 minutes from Ellijay, so pair a day at the fair with a couple of nights up here at Deer Den or Deer Trail. Skip the hotel parking lot — come back to a private hot tub under the stars and wake up to mountain air instead of midway noise.
